Most questions on climate protection touch strongly on the issues of urban renewal, but also on urban and local development. This is because a renovation backlog can be seen in many buildings. It is therefore a good idea to combine renovation to secure the status quo with energy upgrading and to use the existing potential. There is great opportunity in the area of heat supply, especially in the outlying districts, such as Cyriaxweimar, Haddamshausen and Wehrshausen in the city of Marburg. From this, measures can be derived that can reduce GHG emissions in the short, medium and long term. At the same time, strategic decisions lay the foundations for sustainable urban and local development.
In addition, renovation options in the various building age classes were shown to the owners in the form of models and presented at the final event on 23 May 2023.
