We are in the midst of climate change! Temperatures and precipitation patterns have already changed. Local governments, residents, and businesses are feeling the effects, ranging from rising maintenance costs to damage caused by weather extremes.
Addressing climate change and its consequences is a long-term challenge. How can we make cities and regions livable and sustainable? How can infrastructure be adapted to increasingly frequent extreme weather events, and how can the local economy be strengthened in the face of climate change?
We advise and support municipalities and regions in adapting to climate change. We always view climate adaptation as an iterative process through which municipalities and regions can prepare for the consequences of climate change in the areas of “communication”, “workflows/processes”, and “structural development”. Urban green spaces, decentralized water management, and mobility are key building blocks of sustainable development.
Climate adaptation presents challenges, but also opportunities – above all, however, it is a multidisciplinary task.We need a shared understanding of current and future impacts. We must identify interconnections and dependencies and challenge established routines. Together with municipalities and regions, we engage in dialogue, contributing our knowledge and experience to jointly develop viable and tailored solutions to climate change.
